Today would have been my Dad’s 68th Birthday. I
still can’t believe he’s gone. If I really think about it, I just feel like I’m
still in shock and this wasn’t supposed to happen. Not to me, not to our
family. He was always so strong and never got sick. Cancer is evil and so is
the FDA and Big Pharma!
On a lighter note, I love my Dad so much and miss him. I
have always appreciated his fun side and the kid in him that everyone loved so
much. Besides his fun, witty sense of humor and outspoken personality, he was a
hard worker. He had a great work ethic, outgoing personality, was real to all
his customers, tell it like it is type of guy and huge on follow-through. I dig
that. The follow-through alone is a wonderful quality to have.
So how are my Mom & I celebrating....we are taking a trip together to Arizona. We both leave today to fly to Phoenix. My Mom is leaving from Fresno, myself from San Jose.
We arrive in Phoenix around the same time, around 2pm. Jill is picking us up at the airport - knowing Jill, she'll probably be holding a sign for my Mom. Funny! We'll be staying at her house Thursday night but first going out to dinner in Scottsdale. I wanted my Mom to be able to see Scottsdale as she's never been. Friday, Brooke is picking us up and we are
heading to Flagstaff. Maybe going to the Grand Canyon as it’s only an hour away
from Flag. Spending the night in Flag and then Sat. heading to Sedona for Sat
& Sun. Monday heading back to the airport. I think it will be a lot of fun,
no stress, just relaxation and go with the flow. Brooke is nervous because she
wants everything to go well, I understand how she feels. I do the same thing,
but she doesn’t need to worry, it will all go well.
Weather for the weekend:
Phoenix: Thursday 82/51
Flagstaff: Friday 61/30
Sedona: Sat 72/44
Sun: 70/44
All around great weather. I'm looking forward to this trip.
The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is open all year long. In actuality, my Uncle Johnny & I just went here last summer on our road trip from CA to Louisiana.

My Mom has never been to the Grand Canyon, so I thought why not!
